The article states that having this technology will remarkably increase the safety of the riders on the road as there will be sensors and detectors to detect the movement of the vehicles on the road if there are any accidents that may occur while drivers are on the road. After several testing for the past few years, the technology has improved. The system will input sensors and detectors into the program to indicate the condition of the roads such as traffic jams or accidents by the connection of the internet. From this, users, and the emergency centre will be able to call or be alarmed if there are any accidents occur. Even though ‘touchpads’ have their benefits, the downside of the technology is that it will affect the rural areas as they do not have advanced technology or a proper supply that will conduct proper electricity to the touchpads. Other than that, this smart technology is costly for rural areas. Smart road technology may solve issues in the current road system.
