The article “Smart Road technology could turn highways into crash-sensing ‘touchpads’” (Cox, 2018) introduces and explains the latest features and the newest technology for roads and highways that will provide motorists and drivers a safer place to drive. The article states that having this technology will remarkably increase the safety of the riders on the road as there will be sensors and detectors to detect the movement of the vehicles on the road if there are any accidents that may occur while drivers are on the road. Even though ‘touchpads’ have their benefits, the downside of the technology is that it will affect the rural areas as they do not have advanced technology that will conduct proper electricity to the touchpads.
